AESKULISA®
Reference:
6043
Designation:
Herpes Simplex Virus 1/2 IgM
Intended use:

The AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 1/2 IgG and IgM tests are qualitative and quantitative immunoassays for the detection of human IgG and IgM antibodies in serum or plasma against Herpes Simplex Viruses 1 and 2. The AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 1/2 IgM supports the detection of acute infections. The AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 1/2 IgG allows the confirmation of contact with the pathogen and supports the determination of the immune status. The AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (gG1) IgG and AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (gG2) IgG are qualitative and quantitative immunoassays for the detection of human IgG antibodies in serum or plasma against Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV 1) or Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (HSV 2). The AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (gG1) IgG and AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (gG2) IgG support the determination of the immune status and the typing of an HSV infection. The AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 1/2 IgG, AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (gG1) IgG and AESKULISA® Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (gG2) IgG are also used to detect intrathecally produced antibodies in cerebrospinal fluid. The interpretation of the results can only be made in connection with the clinical picture. A diagnosis should not be based solely on the results of the test performed, but should always be made taking into account all clinical and laboratory findings. Further tests should be carried out for confirmation. AESKULISA® immunoassays are suitable for use by healthcare professionals with appropriate professional training in the use of in vitro diagnostics.
